Most Of Our P4 and P5 Students
Do Well For English In School

Finally Scored Band 1 For Compo!

I used to struggle with writing compositions as it was difficult to come up with good story-lines. This has changed since starting class with Teacher Daniel. The story-lining exercises used in class especially were helpful in allowing me to develop better ideas for writing. Due to this, I achieved not only a Band 1 for my SA2 but also scored a Band 1 for my composition too!

Rie Ee
P4 Student, CHIJ Katong Convent

Scored Band 1 for the 1st Time!

I used to only score average Band 2 grades for English as my grammar and vocab were quite weak. The intense weekly exercises we did in class really helped me to better understand grammar rules, and exposed me to many more words and phrases. As a result, my English results improved by over 10% and I achieved Band 1 for English at the P4 streaming exam!

Low Min Xuai
P4 Student, Geylang Methodist Primary School

Scored 85% for English

My seniors and even my mother often warned me about how P5 was going to be much tougher than P4. They were right. Thankfully however, Mr Ong prepared me well for the various papers. I was thus able to consistently score an A grade throughout the various weighted assessments and more importantly at the SA2 as well.

Jayden Ong
P5 Student, River Valley Primary School

Improved By Over 20%

I used to struggle with scoring Band 2 for English. In the space of less than a year however my grades have improved tremendously. I not only scored a Band 1 for SA1 but also scored 94% for my SA2. This was an improvement of over 20% compared to my grades in P3

Ashlyn Song
P4 Student, CHIJ Kellock

Scored 87% for English!

My SA1 performance was not ideal so my mother decided to sign me up for classes with Teacher Daniel With his guidance, I  became more confident and was able to improve and score 87% for English by SA2. I am confident that I will achieve my A* for English during the PSLE next year with Teacher Daniel’s assistance.

Chloe Lee
P5 Student, St Hilda’s School

More Importantly, Our System Prepares
Our Students Well For The PSLE!

Scored A* For PSLE English

No one in my family had ever achieved an A* for English. In fact, my father was hoping that I would be the first to do so when he signed me up for tuition with Teacher Daniel in P5 as that seemed beyond me initially. Since then however, I grew more confident in English and was consistently able to score A* for English by the time I entered my crucial P6 year. This culminated in me scoring A* For PSLE English and qualifying for the IP Programme at Nanyang Girls High School.

Ella Tan
P6 Student, Kong Hwa Primary School

Scored A* For PSLE English

I was hovering around the mid-A range consistently prior to joining lessons with Teacher Daniel. As the PSLE was coming soon, my parents were extremely concerned as they did not want my English grades to pull down the rest of my scores. This was especially since I was aiming to enter the Integrated Programme which required a T-Score of above 250. Despite the short time with Teacher Daniel, my English results improved by leaps and bounds and I was finally able to achieve my first A* grade when it mattered at the PSLE.

Justin Wiebesiek
P6 Student, Tanjong Katong Primary School

Improved From B to A!

I used to struggle with my composition and often did poorly for English. My mother thus decided to sign me up for lessons with Teacher Daniel as he was also teaching my brothers. In the space of a year, my results improved tremendously and I finally achieved an “A” for English at the PSLE. Due to this, I successfully qualified for the Express stream.

Angus Tan
P6 Student, St Stephen’s School

Improved From B to A!

I did not do well for English in P5 and was only able to score in the low 60ties region. After starting classes with Mr Ong however in P6, I realised that the English paper was actually not that complex once I was able to better understand the requirements of the different papers. Due to this my grades improved by over 10% and I was able to secure my A grade by the PSLE.

 Marcus Koay
P6 Student, St Stephen’s School

Improved From B to A!

English is a subject that I enjoy but I was never able to score well for it during my exams. Thankfully, this was eventually remedied after I joined Teacher Daniel’s class. Through his guidance, i finally understood what I was supposed to do to meet the exam requirements, and was soon able to achieve an A for English not only for my school exams but at the PSLE too.

Me – Former Award Winning MOE Officer

Dear Parents,

I am Teacher Daniel, and I have made it my Mission To Help Your Child Excel In English.

I believe that Helping Your Child To Achieve Massive Improvement For English is entirely possible, and in fact extremely achievable, with the proven system I have created.

This is also the reason why I started our Guaranteed Results English Programme For Upper Primary Children – to help students like your child who have the desire to do better, but are not sure on how or where to start the process of improvement.

As you may know, there have been many announcements made regarding changes to the education system. Nonetheless, what remains is the fact that the English language still remains as the most important subject your child has to learn and master not just for Primary School or Secondary School, but also for his or her whole life ahead.

In my case, the English Language helped me to secure my first job in the Civil Service. There, I had the honour of drafting speeches for Singapore’s Cabinet Level Ministers, and also contributed to the national review of the PSLE, which I am sure everyone has heard about given the various announcements in the news by MOE.

As a result, I was appointed to the Public Service Leadership Programme, a talent programme under the ambit of the Prime Minister’s Office.

That’s not all! It was also this very same English Language that enabled me to support myself through my university years, by working as an English tutor, even as I excelled as a multi-year Dean’s-list recipient during my time at the Singapore Management University (SMU).

I would like to help your child to achieve his or her dreams and aspirations through improving the most important subject in his/her school life: The English Language.

Did You Know

Please read this if your child is scoring below your expectations for English today

Tremendous changes have been made to the Upper Primary School English syllabus. It is tougher, and so more students tend to struggle!

Just a few years ago in 2016, an 11-year old child committed suicide due to poor grades arising from the P5 drop. This prompted MOE to clarify that P5 students tend to see a dip in their results due to changes in the examination format in preparation for the Primary School Leaving Examination – the exam that determines which Secondary School they are eligible to study in.

This means that getting good grades in upper primary is tougher than ever before, especially if your child does not receive the right help early on. During P3/P4, the English exam mainly focused on your child’s grammar and vocabulary skills. However, in P5/P6, the syllabus is a completely different ball game altogether.

To Make Things Even Worse…

The new changes to the PSLE grading system has brought about even more uncertainty if you are a parent of a P4 and/or P5 child in 2020 as your child will be the guinea pig batch.

Compounting the issue, your child’s results at the recent SA2, especially for English, may be less than ideal which further adds to the anxiety that you as a parent face.

What Is Certain However…

The recent tweaks have made
preparing your child for the unknown even more important. This is especially so if your child is in P5 in 2020 as he/she will be deprived of the opportunity to use the mid-year examinations as a feedback channel to better understand his/her weak areas, and to prepare for the year-end SA2 which will bear a higher weightage than before.

The high stakes nature of the SA2 in the new system and the impact of the new PSLE grading system, means that it has become more crucial to equip your child with the right fundamentals early on in terms of Grammar, Vocab, Comprehension, Composition, and Oral Stimulus. This is to enable your child to avoid any nasty shocks and be ready to face the coming year with confidence.

I too am a parent, and as parents, I am sure that you do not want your child to bring a knife into a gunfight. If they do so, it means that they will face a greater risk of not being able to meet the entry requirements for their desired secondary school following the PSLE exam.

Given This…

It is now crucial for you to take action today by helping your child to minimise his/her struggle in English. Prolonging your child’s pain will not only be unfair to your child, but more importantly will also cause your child to have less time to prepare well for crucial examinations such as Streaming, and the PSLE.

What Many Other English Tutors & Tuition Centres Won’t Tell You…

The truth is that many tutors and tuition centres are still struggling to adapt to the changes in the English Syllabus. And, because they are still teaching students using outdated methods and materials, they are doing more harm than good!  No matter how much tuition their students attend, there is simply no way for them to improve as they are digging a deeper hole in the wrong direction.

As A Result…

The Number 1 reason why so many students struggle with English today is not because of their grammar or vocabulary which these other centres blindly emphasise on.

Instead, it is due to the fact they are now faced with examinations and tests with a greater emphasis on logical thinking, inferential ability and creativity.

The fact of the matter is many children (most probably including your child) are ill-equipped with the right tools to handle such questions – which is precisely why they are struggling today (especially in areas such as Comprehension and Comprehension Cloze)!

What Is More Concerning…

These other places also often do not keep up with the variety of changes being implemented to the education system as a whole.

This is not their fault though as few centres, if any, hire teachers with extensive policy experience at the level of the Ministry of Education.

Hence, they may find it difficult to clearly explain the implications and rationale behind all these changes to their students and parents.

Due To This…

Students may end up making decisions based on incomplete information when planning their progression into secondary school. This is an outcome that I am sure that you as a concerned parent will surely want to avoid.

Teacher Daniel taught me from Pri 4 until Sec 4. Over the years in his class, I really appreciated how the application focused teaching methods taught by him enabled me to not only strengthen my language skills, but more importantly helped me to hone my critical thinking ability and communication skills. The skills I’ve learnt from him stayed with me even after I graduated from Secondary school, and were crucial for my successful scholarship application.

I first met Teacher Daniel when I was a P5 student at Tao Nan School. Even at that age, I could see that the way in which he approached learning was very different from others. He focused on purposeful learning, and would always explain the rationale for anything he taught. His patience was also something I appreciated as I was an inquisitive child who asked many questions in class.
