Our System Enables Our Students
To Ace The PSLE With Ease

The English Programme here at DO Applied Learning, has enabled me to achieve an “A” for English at both my school prelims and also at the more important PSLE. Due to this, I have successfully qualified to enter Chung Cheng High School (Main) through DSA.

Jade Wee
P6 Student, Maha Bodhi School

My composition, paper 2, and oral scores have all improved because of the English programme here at DO Applied Learning. As a result, I have consistently achieved As in school for English. More crucially however, I have also scored an “A” for English at the PSLE this year.

Christian Ng
P6 Student, Kong Hwa School

I used to find it challenging to develop sufficient content for Composition. Vocabulary was also another major concern for me. The Grammar and Writing Programme here at DO Applied Learning was thus very useful in helping me to formulate better ideas, and to include appropriate words in my writing. This helped me to achieve my “A” for English at the PSLE.

Jake Chan
P6 Student, Anglo-Chinese School (Primary)

I had initially struggled with English when I was younger. In fact, it was common for me to fail composition as I did not have the vocabulary to express what I thought. This all changed after joining DO Applied Learning however. The English Programme here has helped me to experience massive improvement for English and to achieve my target of getting an “A” for English at the PSLE.

Thevin Ong
P6 Student, Eunos Primary School

I really enjoy lessons here at DO Applied Learning, especially during composition class, where I have experienced massive improvement in my creative writing. Since joining, I have consistently scored As for Composition. This has helped me to score over 80% for every exam, and secure my “A” grade at the PSLE! These stellar results have qualified me for a place in Anglican High School.

P6 Student, Nan Chiau Primary School

Our O & A Level Students Have Also Experienced
Significant Improvement

Improved from D7 to A1!

I was worried that I would fail my O Level exam as I had scored a D7 for my SA2 exam in Sec 3. Thankfully, my brother recommended me to join Mr Ong’s class. Since then, I have experienced rapid improvement across all areas of English but especially so in Composition and Comprehension. Due to this, I was able to improve my English grades from a D7 to an A1 by the time I took my O level exam. Thank you Mr Ong for your help!

Sofia Irwan
2018 O Level Candidate, CHIJ Katong Convent

Improved from D7 to A2!

I had always struggled in English even though I came from an English speaking household. Things finally came to a head when I scored a D7 for my SA2 during S3. My mother decided to sign me up for lessons with Mr Ong, and in under a year, I experienced massive improvement under his care. When I received my O level results this year, I could hardly believe my eyes as I had achieved an A for English for the first time in my secondary school life. This was the best possible time to score an A, as it significantly improved my L1R4 for entry into the polytechnic course of my choice.

Crystal Goh
2018 O Level Candidate, Bedok South Secondary School

Improved from C6 to A2!

I was very disheartened after only scoring a C6 for English during my SA1 in Sec 3. A similar score like this at the O level would mean that I would not be able to qualify for JC, and this was something that I was very concerned about. However since joining Mr Ong’s class, I experieced a surge in my performance and I was able to achieve significant improvement especially for both Situational Writing and Continuous Writing in Paper 1. This allowed me to improve my English grade from a C6 to an A2 by the O level exam, and qualify for Victoria JC.

Arshiya Fathima
2018 O Level Candidate, Tanjong Katong Girls’ School

Improved from E8 to B3!

I used to struggle very much in English. In fact, I even scored an E8 for it in Sec 3.  I am thus very glad that my mother signed me up for lessons with Mr Ong. Within a year, I managed to improve by over 20%, and even achieved a B3 for my O level exam. This allowed to qualify to enter Junior College. Thank you Mr Ong!

Chin Fu Jie
2018 O Level Candidate, Pasir Ris Secondary School

Improved from C6 to B3!

I was doing poorly for many of my subjects, including English which I barely passed. The main reason for this was because I struggled to understand the questions in the various subjects due to my poor English. Since signing up for lessons with Mr Ong however, my English language skills have improved. I managed to score better not only for English but also for all my other subjects too at the O Level exam. As a result of this, I won the Most Improved Student Award for Victoria School in 2018, and successfully qualified to enter Victoria Junior College.

Amos Ng
2018 O Level Candidate, Victoria Secondary School

Improved from S Pass to A!

The JC General Paper syllabus is completely different from the O Level English syllabus, and I found it difficult to adapt. This got to the point where I scored only an S Pass (42/100) for my promo exam in JC 1. Due to this, my mother signed me up for lessons with Mr Ong when I entered JC 2. Since then, I have improved by leaps and bounds under his systematic guidance. Due to this, I secured a 5 grades improvement for GP and went from struggling with an S Pass to achieving an A by my A Level exam!

Sim Lee Ting
2018 A Level Candidate, Temasek Junior College

Many Of Our Former Students Have Done Us Proud

University Scholar

Teacher Daniel taught me from Pri 4 until Sec 4. Over the years in his class, I really appreciated how the application focused teaching methods taught by him enabled me to not only strengthen my language skills, but more importantly helped me to hone my critical thinking ability and communication skills. The skills I’ve learnt from him stayed with me even after I graduated from Secondary school, and were crucial for my successful scholarship application.

Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship Recipient for 2016, Tao Nan Primary School & Maris Stella Secondary School Alumni

Successful Entrepreneur

Teacher Daniel is someone who teaches English in a way that can be applied meaningfully beyond the classroom. The skills he taught me over the years helped me to present myself confidently in front of various audiences, and played a significant role in my success today as an entrepreneur.

Shawn Loo

Founder, Gold Plus Fuels Pte Ltd and Winner of Start Up @ Singapore Business Plan Competition

Medical Doctor

I first met Teacher Daniel when I was a P5 student at Tao Nan School. Even at that age, I could see that the way in which he approached learning was very different from others. He focused on purposeful learning, and would always explain the rationale for anything he taught. His patience was also something I appreciated as I was an inquisitive child who asked many questions in class.

Me – Former Award Winning MOE Officer

Dear Parents,

I am Daniel Ong, and I have made it my Mission To Help Your Child Excel In English.

I believe that Helping Your Child To Improve By 10% Or More & Transform From Struggling With ‘C’ To Scoring ‘B’ & From Scoring ‘B’ To Securing ‘A’ In School, is entirely possible, and in fact extremely achievable, with the proven system I have created.

This is also the reason why I started our Guaranteed Results English Programme – to help students like your child who have the desire to do better, but are not sure on how or where to start the process of improvement.

As you may know, regardless of the changes made to the education system, the English language still remains as the most important subject your child has to learn and master not just for Primary School or Secondary School, but also for his or her whole life ahead.

In my case, the English Language helped me to secure my first job in the Civil Service. There, I had the honour of drafting speeches for Singapore’s Cabinet Level Ministers, and also contributed to the national review of the PSLE (during my time with MOE).

As a result, I was appointed to the Public Service Leadership Programme, a talent programme under the ambit of the Prime Minister’s Office.

That’s not all! It was also this very same English Language that enabled me to support myself through my university years, by working as an English tutor, even as I excelled as a multi-year Dean’s-list recipient during my time at the Singapore Management University (SMU).

I would like to help your child to achieve his or her dreams and aspirations through improving the most important subject in his/her Secondary School life: The English Language.

Here are even more results, 1st from our primary students…

P5 students like Michael have consistently scored A throughout the year

My seniors and even my mother often warned me about how P5 was going to be much tougher than P4. They were right. Thankfully however, Mr Ong prepared me well for the various papers. I was thus able to consistently score A for Paper 1, and also improved my oral grades in the process. This not only enabled me to score an A for SA1, but also helped me to improve on that score during SA2.

Michael Liesmanto
P5 Student, Geylang Methodist Primary School

Furtheremore, other P5 students like Ella are consistently near or at the top of their class for English

My elder brother had experienced a severe drop in grades during P5. My father was concerned that this would happen to me too. He thus signed me up for English lessons with Mr Ong. With his guidance, I consistently achieved above 85% for English in all tests and exams, and I am confident that I will achieve my A* for English during the PSLE next year.

Ella Tan
P5 Student, Kong Hwa School

Similarly, our P4 students such as Jayden, have also finally achieved Band 1 for English after only scoring Band 2 previously

I scored only a Band 2 for English during my mid-year examination. I had done very poorly for Oral and Composition. After quickly identifying these weak areas, Mr Ong designed a programme to help me improve in these areas. I had to submit weekly oral recordings to him, and practised composition every week. Since then, my results have improved and I not only scored a Band 1 for my P4 streaming exam this year, but was also the top student in my class.

Jayden Ong
P4 Student, River Valley Primary School

…and then from our secondary students too

We have helped several students such as Chung How, who used to fail English, to score A1 today.

The Sec 1 English syllabus is completely different from Pri 6, and I found it difficult to adapt. This got to the point where I even failed my first English paper in S1 last year. Due to this, my mum signed me up for lessons with Mr Ong. Since then, I have improved by leaps and bounds, especially in Comprehension, and by SA2 this year, I managed to secure a 6 grades improvement for English from D7 to A1!

Chin Chun How
S2 Student, Chung Cheng High School (Main)

Students like Anish, who used to score E8 for English, are now consistently scoring B3 or better too.

I was promoted from S1 (NA) to S2 (Express) last year. The difference in standard, especially in Comprehension however proved a major challenge for me and I ended up scoring an E8 for SA1. My mother found out about Mr Ong, and decided to sign me up for lessons with him. Since then, my English has become better.  I have improved by almost 20% since SA1 and scored a B3 for SA2.

Anish Kumar
S2 Student, St Patrick’s School

In addition, students like Matthew have improved by 4 grades and have gone from scoring D7 to achieving B3.

I was completely lost in English lessons and struggled to even pass. However, since signing up for lessons with Teacher Daniel, I can better understand what my teacher is saying in class, and no longer struggle as much. I even managed a 4 grades improvement from D7 to B3 during my SA2 despite the relatively short period of only 3 months with him.

Matthew Chiang
S1 Student, Victoria Secondary School
